In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to block preinstalled Android apps without root. The program we’ll use is Debloater, which offers a simple solution to block preinstalled apps without permissions.

Whenever we buy a new mobile device, we notice that the manufacturer and the phone service provider have installed a large number of apps that make the phone slower. This is where this tutorial comes in, to block those platforms.

The main advantages of the platform are the ability to block several apps in one action, export a list of blocked and unblocked apps to a text file, and, of course, its simplicity.

Getting Started: Enabling USB Debugging

Once you download the program from its official page, you’ll see that it runs automatically. Then you have to connect your mobile device to the computer (in USB Debugging mode). If the USB Debugging option is not active, you’ll need to disconnect the USB cable from the phone, go to “Settings”, and under the “Developer options” section, select “USB debugging”. Now you can connect the device to the computer.

Using Debloater

At this point, you’ll see the platform’s interface and you have to click on the “Read Device Packages” button. You’ll see how all the applications and packages installed on your mobile device are listed.

Now you can select the applications you want to block and then click on “Apply”. You just have to wait for the environment to block the apps and packages you selected.

Also, from the utility, you can select Android apps and unlock them using the “UnBlock All Package” button.

A Word of Caution

Before you do this task, we want to warn you that this type of environment that blocks apps installed by the developer can affect the proper functioning of your mobile device. If it happens and you can get into “Settings”, the only solution is to reset the device to factory settings.

In our tests with a new phone and an old one, we had two results. With the new device everything worked perfectly, but with the old device we couldn’t scan the apps and the environment closes.
