How to change the audio output on Android Q

Recently the first Android Q Beta was launched, with new features and functions in the section: developer options. In this article, we will talk about a feature called "Audio Switcher". This function offers you the possibility to choose the audio output of your phone. For example, you are listening to a song from your Bluetooth headphones and you want to share the song with some people around you.

Normally, in this situation you would have to disconnect the headphones to play the song from the speaker. But with "Audio Switcher" you will be able to change the audio output between the headphones and the speaker easily and without disconnecting anything. In a few simple steps we are going to show you how to enable this function on your Android device.

How to enable the audio output switcher feature on Android Q?

The first thing you have to do is enable the developer options. To do this, you will have to open "Settings" and slide to the end and select "About device". There, you will have to tap seven times on the "Build number" option, to enable the developer options.

There, go back one step and, from the "System" section, you will have to choose "Developer options". Then, you will have to follow the following steps to enable the switcher function:

In the "Debugging" section (depuración in Spanish) select "Feature flags" (indicators of features). Look for the options we indicate below and change their value to active "True":

• settings_audio_switcher (You will enable the audio switching function on your phone with Android Q)
• settings_seamless_transfer (This indicator provides you an easy method to switch between the available audio output options)

You have now enabled the function in Android Q to easily alternate the audio output transmission of your mobile.

How to use the Audio Switcher option?

When you play a multimedia file from your mobile, you will get a new music note icon in the notification (next to the other icons). Tap the icon, a window will open with all the available output options on your phone. Simply select the output option and tap on "Done". The audio stream will change from headphones to speakers, or from headphones to a Bluetooth speaker, without disconnecting.
