There's no weird science here: Go to the Google Chrome store and install Volume Master. From a technical standpoint, it received its last update in March 2023 and works perfectly even on the latest Chrome builds.
Another important aspect is that the Volume Master interface automatically recognizes all tabs with audio activity, and to jump to one of them you just click on the title.
The higher amplification values don't work that well, to say the least, but all we care about is the independent volume change per tab, and in that there are no errors to highlight.
In summary, Volume Master can be a good ally for your Chrome extension, at least until developers decide what exactly they want to do with audio control in the browser. One thing is certain: official solutions are insufficient.
