With Bootable USB Test, you can check whether a bootable USB device works correctly. The platform creates a virtual environment and virtual hard disk, from which you can test the USB device. The simulation doesn't make any changes to your computer, and you don't need to restart the system to create the virtual environment. The utility offers a few configuration options (adjust the amount of RAM and the size of the virtual hard disk).
Downloading the Program
Once you've downloaded the program from its official website, you'll need to unzip the .ZIP file into a folder. At this point, connect the bootable device to a USB port.
Testing a Faulty Device
Now you have to run the "emutest.exe" file, and a window will open that begins scanning the device. As you can see in the screenshot, the virtual environment indicates that the device doesn't work. In this case, you won't have access to the virtual environment.
We'll run another test with a working device, and here you can specify the virtual environment's RAM and the size of the hard disk.
If the bootable device works, you'll be able to run any tests you need from the virtual environment created by the utility.
Really, the platform is a simple and very good option to detect whether a USB device is working properly. In our tests, we verified that a 16GB USB device doesn't work.
