Control a Teleprompter from Your Mobile Using ScriptSlide

ScriptSlide is a free online teleprompter with a mobile controller. Teleprompters use a large font for readability, which limits the amount of content on screen. This forces the text to scroll through sentences while the presenter reads. But problems arise when the text moves too slowly or too quickly, causing pauses in the speech, or worse, when the presenter can't finish the sentence. That's why we're presenting ScriptSlide, a platform that lets you control the teleprompter from your phone.

The environment lets you add transcriptions to the teleprompter and then connect your mobile device by scanning a QR code. This action enables a remote control on your phone, with which you can navigate the teleprompter.

The first thing you have to do is open the ScriptSlide website in your browser. Then you'll need to register. From the homepage you can open the teleprompter, which provides a text editor where you can write or paste your text.

How to Control a Teleprompter with Your Mobile — Simple interface

In the bottom right corner you'll find the presentation button. Clicking it starts the teleprompter in full screen.

The interface stands out for its black background and highlighted white letters. However, on the right side you'll find the most interesting part of the platform:

Options to adjust the font size and line spacing
Option to exit full screen
QR code you need to scan with your mobile phone to sync the device with the environment.

Note: Both the phone and ScriptSlide don't need to be on the same network; they just need to be connected to the internet.

How does synchronization work?

By reading the QR code with your phone, a web page will open on your device from which you can navigate the teleprompter, and your instructions will be reflected immediately on the ScriptSlide website.
