If you have more than one display connected to your computer, or you're the kind of user who needs to adjust brightness frequently, you already know how tedious any correction process can become in no time. Laptops escape this problem thanks to a series of built-in shortcuts, but when it comes to desktop systems, you can always download a free and open-source solution like Monitorian, which will help you control the brightness of multiple displays easily.
Adding more screens to a computer is pointless if you can't get them to look right, and the first step is precise brightness control. There are very advanced (and expensive) solutions for calibrating a monitor in a few steps, but at the end of the day, everything has to look perfect to you, observing each change with your own eyes.
With that in mind, we arrive at a historical Windows problem: adjusting brightness isn't comfortable. Of course, we have physical monitor controls and the options built into the video driver, but there's also Monitorian, a small open-source application that helps us control the brightness of multiple displays with a couple of clicks.

The first thing we should mention about Monitorian is that its operation isn't tied to the Windows version or its software dependencies, but to the hardware itself. For the application to work correctly, you'll need to enable DDC/CI mode on each connected display; otherwise, it won't be recognized by the interface.
Everything else depends on the parameters available on each monitor. The most basic option is a 0–100 brightness slider with immediate changes, but Monitorian can also set minimum and maximum brightness levels, modify contrast values, and detect configuration associated with ambient light sensors (for example, Surface devices have that feature). To activate these additional controls, you must right-click on the Monitorian icon.
Monitorian doesn't have a portable version, but that's not much of an inconvenience to be honest. Its developer offers frequent updates, and the best part is that it works with any Windows edition starting from Windows 7, as long as you have .NET Framework 4.8 installed. Download a copy!
