Recently we shared our experiences with three free text-to-speech services, but what if today we go in the opposite direction? Our destination is AudioNotes.ai, an AI-powered platform that can capture recordings with a microphone or process audio files automatically. The best part is that it doesn't just deliver a literal transcription, but also creates a compact and accurate summary of the content.
Processing audio samples and converting them to text has more utility than we imagine. On one hand, it allows us to escape the endless spoken messages that many users send through their messengers, and on the other, it helps us process information in guides or tutorials faster. The service AudioNotes.ai aims in that direction, and with a good dose of AI it can transcribe audio and generate summaries easily.
AudioNotes.ai: How to convert voice to text
The free version of AudioNotes.ai only requires creating an account (or using Apple and Google credentials as an alternative), and enables a maximum of 6 minutes per note, with an absolute ceiling of 30 minutes per month. We can also save 15 notes, but nothing stops us from doing a copy-paste and staying below that number.
While the service can auto-detect the language of the recording, its official recommendation is to select it manually from the list. As expected, transcription and summary creation in English is quite good. Even with background noise and strange effects in the audio, AudioNotes.ai managed to focus on the spoken content and ignore everything else.
But the most interesting part is that its processing of the Spanish language is not left behind. I decided to use breaking news for my tests, because they usually have a mix of special names and foreign words, but AudioNotes.ai did an excellent job with the summary and transcription.
To conclude, AudioNotes.ai offers two subscriptions that notably extend the limits, and something we don't see every day: A "lifetime" license (equivalent in features to the Advanced subscription) for $129.
