You've surely had it happen: while typing on your laptop, you see the mouse cursor move in front of your writing because you accidentally brushed your hand, wrist, or forearm against the touchpad. Although the touchpad is placed in a strategic spot, in some typing positions it's impossible not to brush it. So if your laptop doesn't have a "Touchpad" lock button, we're going to introduce three free platforms to disable it. All of them work perfectly on Windows 10, though they can also run on earlier versions of Windows.
TouchFreeze
We'll start with TouchFreeze, a tool to disable your computer's touchpad. After installing the program, you'll see the environment's icon in the system tray (it starts with Windows). The good thing about this platform is that every time you start typing on the keyboard, the utility will automatically block the touchpad, and when you stop typing it will be enabled again.
Touchpad Blocker
We continue with Touchpad Blocker, an advanced platform to disable the laptop's touchpad while you type. After downloading the program, it will run in the system tray. To enable or disable the computer's touchpad, you'll need to use the following key combination: "Ctrl + F9". By clicking its icon you can access the environment's settings and customize: automatic startup, show notifications, block accidental clicks (at time intervals), configure keyboard shortcuts, and hear a beep when a click is blocked.
Touchpad Pal
Touchpad Pal is the last application we'll list to block your computer's touchpad. The environment runs from the system tray, from where you can enable a menu that only lets you exit the program and view blocked clicks. The other buttons do nothing. For example, the "settings" button takes you to its web page. The utility blocks the touchpad very well from any brushing when you're typing on the keyboard.
