Sharing PDF files is a common task, but sometimes you need to extract the PDF attachments. In this tutorial we’ll show you a simple way to extract the attached files from a PDF. We’ll use Bytescout PDF Multitool, which will save the attached files to your computer in just four steps.
Once you download the program from its official page, open the PDF file from its interface (it also acts as a viewer). To extract data, click Data Extration in the left sidebar and then select Atachments. The platform will then look for attached files in the document.
Then just click the “Go” button to save the attachments to a folder on your machine. After that, head to the output folder to access the attached files of the PDF individually.
Another great option is extracting embedded media (audio and video). For that, go to Embbebed multimedia and let the environment find and extract the embedded files.
The utility is very simple for extracting files from a PDF, although you can’t extract PDFs in batch; you have to do it individually.
In our tests we smoothly extracted all attached files from PDFs that contained a large number of pages. You can extract Word files, text files, embedded files, and images, then save them to any folder on your computer.
