In this tutorial, we'll show you how to generate a WLAN report that contains information related to your Wi-Fi sessions. This report includes successful and failed sessions, the duration of sessions for each Wireless network, disconnection reasons, the network name or SSID, BSS type, the start and end time and date of the Wi-Fi network session, capacity changes, connection mode (manual or automatic), and more. All these records will cover the last three days and will be very helpful for detecting connection problems with a specific Wi-Fi network and for providing them to a technical support agent or trying to find a solution on the Internet.
- The first thing you need to do is open a Command Prompt window with administrator rights.
- At this point, you'll need to type the following command:
netsh wlan show wlanreport
- The command will start querying WLAN, System, Ipconfig, wireless profiles, network devices, user information, and other events to generate the report.
- As you can see in the Command Prompt window, the output report will be saved in the "WlanReport" folder as an HTML file (latest.html).

- By clicking on the file, you can view the report in your default web browser and discover the true problem with the Wireless connection. This issue could be related to a power failure, or the network adapter, among other issues that make your sessions fail.
There are a large number of programs that generate a detailed report of your Wi-Fi connections, but with this trick you can generate it simply with a command in the Command Prompt window. In our tests on Windows 10, everything has worked perfectly.
