Passwords. Many believe it's time to do away with passwords entirely, in favor of encrypted keys or biometric solutions. Others propose prioritizing their strength depending on how important the service to protect is, but the classic strategy of "long and absolute nightmares" remains quite effective. Online services are multiplying, and with them the need to create good passwords. Today we buy, pay and consume through the Web, activities that must be carried out under certain security parameters. However, the typical password like "diosgriego1234" is no longer enough. There are databases on the internet with millions of leaked passwords (along with a similar number of email addresses) , and yours could be one of them.

RandPass has a free edition for personal and non-commercial use, which is also available in portable form. Its interface is divided into two tabs: "Characters", where we can create chaotic passwords, and "Words", where the program applies methods like Diceware. Some of the advanced options under "Characters" deserve special attention. For example, the program lets us add unusual characters to password generation, or design formats that divide the password with hyphens and other symbols.
On the "Words" side, RandPass offers nine wordlists, and the possibility of injecting random capital letters, along with digits and symbols. Undoubtedly, this is the best section to explore. Many passwords share the language spoken by their creators, and that translates into a potential vulnerability. Instead, if you speak Spanish but use German or Russian dictionaries to generate passwords, you are adding an extra difficulty.
