Since Windows XP, digital signatures have existed and any peripheral installed on the system must have its driver digitally signed. So we're going to show you how to install hardware with unsigned drivers.
How to Disable Driver Signature Enforcement
Follow these steps to allow unsigned drivers to install on your Windows 10 system.
- Use the keyboard shortcut “WIN + I” or go to “Settings”.
- Then select “Update & Security” and choose “Recovery”.
- In this tab, go to “Advanced startup” and click the “Restart now” button.
- Once the computer restarts, click “Troubleshoot”, “Advanced options”, and “Startup Settings”.
- When the system restarts, go back to “Settings” and press the “F7” key to disable driver signing.
- Then just restart the computer so you can install drivers without needing the digital signature.
From this moment on, that hardware that was limited can be installed and used without any problem. In our tests, we haven't noticed any stability issues on the system.
