To move data from Android to iPhone 18 Pro Max, start Apple’s Move to iOS transfer during the iPhone’s initial setup. Apple says music, books and PDFs need to be moved separately; if you’ve already finished setup, you must erase the iPhone to use the setup transfer, or move your content manually. Apple’s instructions explain the process.
What Move to iOS can transfer
Apple lists contacts, message history and SMS; camera photos and videos and photo albums; files and folders; accessibility and display settings; bookmarks and mail accounts; WhatsApp messages and media; Voice Memos; call history; and calendars. Some free apps may be matched for download when they’re supported and available in both stores.
Music, books and PDFs are the exceptions Apple says to move manually. Check that the content you plan to transfer fits on the iPhone before you begin.
Start the transfer during iPhone setup
- Check the space you’ll need. Make sure the selected content fits on the iPhone.
- Begin Move to iOS as you set up the iPhone. On the “Transfer Your Apps & Data” setup screen, start the Android transfer with Move to iOS.
- Keep both devices powered and undisturbed. Wait until the transfer progress finishes on the iPhone before using either device.
If you’ve already completed iPhone setup, Apple says you’ll need to erase the iPhone and start setup again to use Move to iOS. If you don’t want to erase it, move the content manually instead.
What one Android switcher reported about iPhone 18 Pro Max
In a review published October 15, 2026, Android Authority reviewer Harish Jonnalagadda said he used the iPhone 18 Pro Max as his daily phone for just over three weeks. He reported that its main camera has a variable aperture from f/1.48 to f/4.0, alongside manual shutter-speed, exposure and white-balance controls; he also valued the ability to change Photographic Styles after taking a photo. Jonnalagadda’s review also reports a 5,391 mAh battery that lasted more than a day in his use, often a day and a half with medium use, and better sustained performance without overheating during his daily use. The battery-life figure reflects his reported use pattern.
