For many users, their games or, more precisely, their saved games, matter more than their bank data or private photos. For these users, we will show you how to protect your games with a password, so that only you can access your games and saved games.

To do this, we will use the program Game Protector, a very simple platform for protecting scores, statistics, and your saved games.

Once you download the program from its official website, you'll notice that the platform creates a desktop icon. You'll need to launch the program from that icon.

In the Game Program text box, locate the executable (.exe) of the game you want to protect. In the Password Protect box below, enter a password and repeat it to encrypt the game.

You can also rename the game

Next, in the Change Icon box, you can change the game's original icon to mislead other users. Now you just need to click Protect to protect your game from malicious users. To unlock the game, select it, enter the password, and click UnProtect, and you're done.

As you can see, protecting the games on your computer with passwords is a very simple task. The platform is ideal for computers to which several users have access.

And when you want to play the game, you can only do it from the executable on drive C, with administrator rights, and at the same time run Game Protector. If you don't follow these steps, the game won't start even if the password is correct.

If you forget the game password, you can solve it by accessing the backup file created along with the protection (if you selected Create Backup). The created file is “game.bak”. To access it, change its extension to .exe and you'll be able to recover the password and enter your saved games. We remind you that if you didn't select the Create Backup option, there is no other way to access the game.

Really, the protection is very good and we can assure you that users will not be able to access the game unless they have the password. We only miss an option to protect games in batch with the same password.

Game Protector is a free program available for Windows operating systems.
