A paywall is a "wall" that prevents users from accessing restricted content on different websites. Bypass Paywalls is a Firefox add-on that breaks the paywall reading restriction (you won't have to log in or subscribe). With the add-on you can read full articles from sites like Quora, The New York Times, and Medium, among others. The extension breaks the block so that no pop-ups or partial articles appear.
What is a paywall?
There are several types of "paywall". To begin with, we have hard paywalls and soft paywalls. Hard paywalls don't allow users to read content for free. They ask the reader to subscribe or log in to access restricted content (whether paid or free). Soft paywalls (metered paywalls) provide the user with free content to read, without having to subscribe. And if the content interests you, the environment then allows you to access restricted content by subscribing.
Then there are the Data Wall or Survey Wall, which allow us to access a website's content under conditions. For example, answering a questionnaire. There are also Share Walls, which force users to share the website's content on their social networks. These blocks are also overcome by the add-on.
Once you install the add-on in your Firefox web browser, the extension will list all the websites where Bypass Paywalls removes restrictions. We must tell you at this point that we have found few Spanish websites, but you can request them from the author, who is very willing to expand the list.
From the extension's icon you can deselect the pages you don't use or the sites that leave cookies on your device. For all this, Bypass Paywalls is a great extension to read what you want on the Internet. All with an automatic method that works perfectly.
