If you've ever wanted to record the sound coming from a single Chrome tab, you no longer need complicated software. With the Chrome Audio Capture extension, you can capture any audio playing in a tab and save it directly as a WAV or MP3 file.
How to Record a Tab's Audio
If you use Google Chrome and want a straightforward way to record a tab's sound, this is an excellent choice. Chrome Audio Capture is an extension that lets you record any audio playback from one tab or multiple tabs simultaneously. Simply download and install the extension, go to the tab whose audio you want to capture, and click the Chrome Audio Capture icon. Then use the interface or keyboard shortcuts to start and stop the recording.
Once you've finished recording the audio or when you reach the recording time limit, a new tab will open so you can save and name the audio file. Completed recordings are downloaded to Chrome's Downloads folder and saved as WAV or MP3 (you can configure that in the Chrome Audio Capture options).
Recording Options
The extension offers several options, such as muting the tabs being recorded (don't worry, the audio is still captured and encoded in the file), adjusting the recording time (while always respecting the 20-minute limit due to Chrome's memory restrictions), and changing the quality of MP3 files (96 kbps, 192 kbps, and 320 kbps).
