The YouTube community is constantly growing, with millions of videos in all kinds of categories. Today, YouTube fills our leisure time, creates professionals, helps us repair the car or the mobile device and even acts as the new "pacifier" for kids (it calms and distracts them). But YouTube has a limitation: searching for spoken phrases within a video's content. Two web pages can help you search YouTube videos by spoken phrases.
The platforms we'll mention are utters.io and wordhunt.xyz. Although they are not infallible and don't work well with Spanish phrases, they exist and are not bad at all.
How to search for a spoken phrase on YouTube with utters.io?
The first option is Utters.io. Its home page has two text fields (Person utters words). To search for a spoken phrase in a YouTube video, you can type the speaker's name in "Person" and then the spoken phrase in "words". After filling both fields, press "Enter".
The engine searches for matches across the entire YouTube community and will offer you several results. The most notable feature of the search engine is the ability to play videos directly from its interface with its controls. From the autoplay button (located between the arrows), you can enable automatic playback of results starting from the phrase you searched. If you want to go to the video on YouTube, you can do so from the transparent icon in the bottom right corner.
How to search for a spoken phrase on YouTube with wordhunt.xyz?
The second option is wordhunt.xyz, which has a single field to search for spoken phrases in YouTube videos. After typing the key phrase and clicking "Go", the page starts a countdown of 15.
When the search ends, the platform lists the results. From its interface you can play the videos or go directly to YouTube. Unlike Utters.io, the engine plays the video from the beginning rather than at the moment of the key phrase.
In our tests with English phrases everything worked perfectly, but when we searched with Spanish key phrases, the database of the platforms didn't work very well.
With these two options you can search for a spoken phrase in YouTube videos and thus carry out studies and research. Although Spanish searches don't work well, the two platforms offer a unique solution.
