How to Set a Bandwidth Limit for Windows 10 Updates

How to Set the Bandwidth Limit for Downloading Windows 10 Updates

Step one:

First, download the command-line tool mach2 from its releases. The executable will activate the download limit feature (don't forget to unzip it!).

Step two:

At this point, you'll need to open a CMD window as Administrator.

Step three:

In the Command Prompt window, paste the path to the unzipped mach2 file. Then press a space and type enable (without quotes) and then type 21425853 (without quotes). Run the command and then restart the computer.

Step four:

At this point, you'll need to open Windows 10 settings and click on Update & Security.

Step five:

In the left sidebar, select the second option, Delivery Optimization. Then, on the right, select Advanced options. Another way to access Delivery Optimization is through: Windows Update – Advanced options – Delivery Optimization.

Step six:

There, you can see the option Absolute bandwidth, from which you can set the bandwidth limit as a percentage for downloading updates in the foreground and background in Windows 10.

This method is very useful because it gives the user total control over the amount of bandwidth they want to allocate to operating system updates, both in the foreground and background.
