On Android mobile devices there is no built-in option to track and monitor the location of children. That's why we're going to introduce you to free platforms to detect your kids' location in real time and monitor the games and programs the little ones use.
Monitoring Your Children's Online Activity
In these times, it is very difficult to control what our children see on their devices, often because the youngest are more immersed in new technologies than adults. But with the environments to monitor and watch over our children, you will find an ally.
Microsoft Launcher
We'll start with Microsoft Launcher, one of the best platforms for tracking children's locations and controlling the use of games and programs. The child protection feature “Microsoft Family”Microsoft Family allows you to keep track of children's activities on Xbox, computers, mobile devices, and track the location of minors (no limits on the number of children). The first thing you need to do is visit the “Microsoft Family” website (log in with your Microsoft account) and from the “Add a Family Member” button, you can add as many children or adults as you want.
There you will need to add their email and phone, so the person accepts the invitation and, in this way, is added to the family group. Then you'll need to install Microsoft Launcher on your phone, log in with your Microsoft account, and open the “Microsoft Family” page from your phone. From “More Options”, tap on “Find on a Map” and enable the option “See my child’s location on a map” to see your child's location on the left in real time.
To monitor device usage with Microsoft Launcher, tap the “Activity” button below each profile. Then enable “Activity Reporting” and, from the “Microsoft Family” page, you'll be able to control everything your child does with their device.
Sentry Parental Control
With Sentry Parental Control, you can also easily track your children's locations and control device usage. The platform uses two environments: Sentry Parental Control and Sentry Kid, one on the adult's phone (Sentry Parental Control) and the other on the child's device (Sentry Kid). To monitor your child's phone, just select the “Apps Usage” option and choose the “Sentry Parental Control” utility. As soon as you do, a list will open with all the programs and games your child has used.
Parental Control SecureKids
Parental Control SecureKids also requires you to install a utility on your phone and another on your child's phone to track location and monitor children's activity (it only accepts 5 children). Once the tool is installed on your device, tap “Who use this device” option select” and, of course, select “Parents”. From “My Children” you'll add your children. Then, on the child's phone, select “Who use this device” and choose “Child” (you'll need to log in with your Parent session). You only need to tap the “Geolocation” button to see your child's location in real time. From “Statistics”, you can supervise the programs and games your child has used in the last 24 hours.
Tittle Parental Control
We'll finish with Tittle Parental Control. To start controlling your child (it only accepts one child and three location checks per day), you need to install the program on your phone and select the “Who will be using this app” option to identify yourself as “Parent”. To add your child, tap “Child” and you'll generate a QR code and a text code. Now, on the child's phone, tap “Tittle Parental Control” and select “Child”. You only need to scan the QR code generated on your phone or enter the text code to connect the devices. From the “App Usage” option, you can monitor your child's activity on the device through texts and graphs.
With the platforms listed above, you'll be able to follow your child around the city or monitor the child's activity on their phone.
