In today's world, we use our mobile phones for many things: watching TV, communicating, and playing games, but there is one task we rarely do: turning off our computer from our mobile device. To do this, we will use Unified Remote for Android and the version of Unified Remote (desktop server) for the computer. After these installations, we will need to establish a connection between the app and the server on the same Wi-Fi network. Also, the environment allows you to perform services like controlling the music player, the volume, the power options, and the task manager, among many other services of your computer.
Once you have downloaded Unified Remote app on your mobile device and the Unified Remote desktop server on your computer, you'll need to connect your phone to the computer via the same Wi-Fi connection or via Bluetooth.
Once the connection is established, just select the Server option on your phone, and you'll see the desktop server to connect to. At this point, you only need to choose the Power option, and all power options (Restart, Shut Down, Suspend, etc.) will appear. Select Shut Down to turn off your computer remotely.
As you can see, turning off your computer remotely from your phone is quite simple. Many times we go to bed and remember that we left our laptop or desktop on. All you have to do is grab your phone from the nightstand and turn it off remotely.
The Unified Remote desktop server is available for free for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, and the Unified Remote app is available for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.
