The iBUYPOWER Slate with an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 delivered strong results in several reported game tests, but Intel-based desktops finished faster in the specified productivity workloads. A review published September 30, 2026, tested this configuration with 32GB of DDR5-5200 memory and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD; its findings describe that system, not every Slate model.

The tested iBUYPOWER Slate configuration

The reviewed desktop pairs the Ryzen 7 7700X3D with an Asus Dual Gaming OC GeForce RTX 5070, featuring 12GB of GDDR7 memory. It also has 32GB of DDR5-5200 RAM, arranged as two 16GB modules, and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 Patriot P410 SSD. The system runs Windows 11 Home and uses a 750 W non-modular power supply.

The review reported a price of $1,999.99 for this configuration when it was published on September 30, 2026. That figure is tied to the tested setup and that review date.

Gaming results depend on the test

In Far Cry 6 at 1080p with Ultra settings, the Slate reached 185 frames per second (FPS). It recorded 97 FPS in the reported 4K test. In Red Dead Redemption 2 at 1080p, it reached 145 FPS; the reported test details did not specify a graphics preset.

In 007 First Light at 4K, High settings and DLSS enabled, the review reported 60–70 FPS outdoors and about 80 FPS indoors. DLSS, or Deep Learning Super Sampling, uses AI-assisted image reconstruction to boost frame rates; the review reported roughly half as many frames in those scenes without it.

The Slate also averaged 145.7 FPS over a 15-loop Metro: Exodus RTX stress test, with less than one frame of variation across runs. Average temperatures during that test were 43°C for the CPU and 64°C for the GPU.

The same review compared the Slate with the Asus ROG G700, which uses a Core Ultra 7 265KF, and the CyberPowerPC GXi3800BSTV2, with a Core Ultra 7 270K Plus. Both comparison desktops used an RTX 5070. These are the reported results for those particular systems and tests:

Productivity tells a different story

In Geekbench 6 multi-core, the Slate scored 14,222, while the CyberPowerPC scored 22,485. The Slate took 3 minutes 35 seconds to transcode a video from 4K to 1080p in HandBrake; the Asus completed that task in 2:03 and the CyberPowerPC in 1:45. In these specified productivity tests, the Intel-based comparison systems were faster.

That makes the Slate’s strongest case gaming, based on the reported results—not a general performance lead across every workload. The Asus ROG G700 and CyberPowerPC GXi3800BSTV2 are the directly tested alternatives here, and the results vary by game and application.

Cooling, controls and other practical details

The system has a 360 mm liquid CPU cooler with a small display for CPU temperature, frequency and load. The display cannot be customized, though it can be switched off in Hyte Nexus. The case also has seven 120 mm fans: three at the front, three on the radiator and one at the rear.

The review reported that the fans became audible under CPU-heavy workloads, while noise was lower during gaming and barely noticeable in everyday use. Hyte Nexus also cannot control the lighting of connected components individually. The review listed a one-year parts-and-labor warranty. The power supply is non-modular, and the case has no 3.5-inch drive bay.

A separate Slate uses different hardware

A separate Slate review published December 13, 2025, covered a configuration with an Intel Core i7-14700F, an RTX 5060, 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB SSD. That system scored 20,617 in Cinebench R23 multi-core and 2,092 in single-core. Its Steel Nomad score was 3,207, rising to 3,291 after overclocking.

That review also reported slower SSD write speeds during prolonged transfers of large files and some fan noise under load. Those observations apply to the Core i7-14700F and RTX 5060 configuration.
