As its name suggests, the combinations seem endless, and with the use of artificial intelligence in the background, some of the results are completely absurd…
The best video game often comes from our heads. The sandbox concept is currently dominated by Minecraft, but I should also mention the Roblox platform, and all the survival games that essentially offer permanent gameplay. Another example worth highlighting is RimWorld, a "story generator" with elements of building, management, and survival. Depending on our actions, RimWorld can take us from despair to joy (and vice versa) in a matter of seconds.
However, today I'm going to talk about a game that seems much simpler on the surface, but actually hides an almost infinite iceberg. Anyone who has crossed swords with Little Alchemy already knows what it's about, but its creator is Neal Agarwal (whom we remember for his explorer of the depths and the asteroid impact simulator), and that means it's not a normal game. Its name is Infinite Craft… and we're going to waste a lot of time with it.

Take an element, place another on top, and you'll get a new result. Sometimes it's enough to repeat the same element several times. For example, fire plus fire is a volcano, and if we add more fire on top it gives us lava… but if we combine Batman with a mirror, we get the Joker, Batman plus Joker leads to Arkham, and Arkham with Japan creates a ninja Batman.
No, it's not my invention. That's the work of the generative AI running behind Infinite Craft. Neal explains that the game depends on Llama 2 (Facebook's language model), and as expected, some combos are truly hilarious, especially when something new appears and it has to give an immediate response. Its viralization was so rapid that Neal had to request additional bandwidth from his provider.
To finish, if we find a new combination, Infinite Craft "rewards" the player with a "First Discovery" tag below the element, but there are so many people playing right now that it won't be easy to see it. Link below!
