Prince of Persia

In this MS-DOS edition of Prince of Persia, you begin as a prisoner with one hour to escape, defeat the vizier Jaffar, and rescue the princess. The route combines side-view platforming with careful jumps, traps, pressure-plate gates, and sword fights against guards. Move thoughtfully: each obstacle calls for a different kind of care, and the clock keeps ticking. The game’s distinctive character animation was created with rotoscoping; Jordan Mechner filmed his younger brother David to capture the original movements. This DOS edition is catalogued as a 1990 release. Mechner created and programmed the original Apple II game in 1989.
