How to play The Bard's Tale 2 online

To play The Bard's Tale 2 online, wait for preparation to finish, then press Play to start the 1988 MS-DOS edition in your browser. Move with the keyboard arrows. In menus, choose an option by typing its first letter or clicking it. Combat commands cover fighting, attacking, defending, casting spells, using items, and trying to run.

Build an adventuring party and explore cities, wilderness, and dungeons from a first-person perspective. Turn-based encounters pit the party against monsters and hostile mercenaries, while equipment and supplies need careful management. Traps and puzzles add further hazards. Your goal is to recover the seven pieces of the Destiny Wand, reforge it, and defeat the archmage Lagoth Zanta.

A milestone in the series

Developed by Interplay Productions, the second Bard's Tale game reached MS-DOS in 1988, following its original Commodore 64 debut in 1986. It expanded the first game's single-city setting to six cities and a larger overworld, while its dungeons placed greater emphasis on traps and puzzles.
