Nowadays, when we mention difficult games, the first thing that comes to mind are cult titles like Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Games where dying is constant, falling back on the classic trial-and-error mechanic to overcome each challenge throughout the adventure. If you're addicted to this type of game, you'll be interested to know that indie developer Strength in Numbers Studios is working on Kaet Must Die!, a video game so difficult it will put your patience to the test.
Kaet Must Die! is a first-person suspense game with elements of action, horror, and puzzles. The story takes place in a terrifying cyberpunk universe where you take control of Kaetheran, a powerful psychic who, after being captured, wakes up alone in a dark sewer. Stripped of her powers and surrounded by an army of profane creatures, Kaetheran must find a way to escape her prison while being stalked by the witch Annalinnia. The gameplay will have you exploring a series of levels filled with enemies and traps that can kill you with a single touch.
But it's not all action, as there are also several puzzles to solve that will help you recover each of your abilities. An interesting detail is that the environments are very dark; this is deliberate, as the time you spend in such places will raise Kaetheran's madness meter, attracting the attention of the dreaded witch Annalinnia. For now, you can download the demo available on Steam and experience firsthand the high difficulty this game offers. Kaet Must Die! is being developed by Strength in Numbers Studios and will be available on Windows on April 5, 2018. The game will also arrive on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, but for now it doesn't have a concrete release date.
