Have you ever wondered what happens each time you press a key? The answer is that the key generates a key code and a hexadecimal value. That may not sound very clear, but if you install KeyboardStateView on your computer, every time you press a key, the program will record the key code information (or JavaScript char) and the hexadecimal code. Now you can understand this mystery! It also shows the key name, description, and last time it was pressed. Another great feature is the logging of mouse buttons.
All the recorded data can be saved to a TXT, HTML, CSV, or XML file. This way, you'll have a backup of all your keyboard and mouse activity.
The program is portable and works on Windows 32-bit and 64-bit systems. When you run it, every time you press a keyboard key or click a mouse button in a text editor, web browser, or any other place, the tool will record the key code, key name, and other information and display it in its interface.
Important note about the display
One thing we want to clarify: If a few seconds pass without you pressing a key or mouse button, all the information will disappear from the KeyboardStateView interface. This does not mean the data is deleted. To access the history, you'll need to click on “Options” in the top menu and check “Show Only Keys Pressed In Last seconds” and you'll recover all the recorded information in the platform's interface.
Saving your data
To save the key code, hexadecimal value, and the rest of the information, you'll need to select the items you want, right-click on them, and choose the save option. There you can choose the backup format: HTML, TXT, CSV, or XML.
KeyboardStateView is a platform that works in the background and easily saves the key code, hexadecimal value, and other computer information which you can later use for whatever function you need.
