A Monster Comeback
Almost eleven years have passed since Peter Jackson's adaptation (director of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies), and Pacific Rim and Godzilla demonstrated that there is great demand for giant monster movies. Therefore, Hollywood's reaction could not be other than to make a reboot (restart of a franchise) of the mythical giant gorilla. This time, Kong: Skull Island takes place in the 1970s, when a scientific expedition embarks into the depths of an unexplored island located in the Pacific.
Skull Island and the Trailer
This island is as beautiful as it is treacherous, and soon the group of adventurers discovers it when they awaken the titanic forces of nature as they cross the domain of the giant gorilla known as Kong. From that moment, what begins as a discovery mission becomes a war between monster and man. In the Kong: Skull Island trailer, divided into two parts, you can see part of the expedition arriving by helicopter on Skull Island, where Kong receives them in a not very friendly way. We also see the island's natives, as well as several fossils of prehistoric beasts.

Kong: Skull Island will serve as the second installment of the Godzilla-Kong movies by Legendary Pictures since the company plans to create a shared cinematic franchise centered on the scientific organization Monarch, bringing together Godzilla and King Kong in the same ecosystem along with other giant monsters. The film features a cast led by Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, John Goodman, and John C. Reilly. Produced by Legendary Pictures and directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer), Kong: Skull Island will be released in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D theaters on March 10, 2017.
