At its September 3, 2026, Innovation World event in Berlin, Lenovo announced a business AI portfolio built around the ThinkCentre X Ultra, a compact desktop specified with up to 128 GB of unified memory and a design that can connect up to four systems. The lineup also includes ThinkBook laptops and ThinkShield security offerings, while a separate collaboration with Workato adds planned connectivity for Lenovo Qira.

ThinkCentre X Ultra: local AI with room to scale

Lenovo specifies the ThinkCentre X Ultra with up to an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor, up to 128 GB of unified memory and an NPU rated for up to 55 TOPS—trillions of operations per second. Graphics can use up to 96 GB of that unified memory. Lenovo lists the compact desktop’s dimensions as 183 × 183 × 51 mm and its starting weight as 2 kg.

Lenovo says the system can connect with up to three others in a unified platform to expand compute and memory resources. The company identifies larger models, longer context windows, multi-agent workflows and simultaneous requests as potential uses for the design. Its broader Hybrid AI strategy spans on-device, edge, on-premises and cloud resources, with the choice depending on the task.

That four-system configuration is a design capability, not a performance figure: Lenovo’s announcement describes the intended expansion of resources, rather than a measured scaling result.

Qira and Workato: connectivity announced, consumer-first

Lenovo and Workato announced a collaboration in which Workato provides the connectivity layer for Qira’s MCP server infrastructure. MCP, or Model Context Protocol, is the protocol named for that connection layer. Lenovo said the initial phase would start with consumer Qira and identified Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Trello, Asana and Discord among the planned integrations, with a broader Qira marketplace intended later.

ThinkBook laptops and ThinkShield security

The ThinkBook 14 Gen 9 pairs a Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Plus processor with up to 80 TOPS of AI performance, up to 32 GB of memory and a 14-inch WUXGA display. The ThinkBook 14x Gen 2 uses an Intel Core 7 Series 3 processor and supports up to 32 GB of memory and up to 2 TB of storage.

For device security, Lenovo says ThinkShield TraceLock can help IT teams locate, wake, lock or wipe supported ThinkPad devices, including when they are powered off or disconnected. The feature is limited to selected ThinkPad X1, X and T models with always-on WWAN and compatible Absolute Security software bundles.

Lenovo also offers Prompt Security through ThinkShield. The company describes it as a tool for real-time monitoring and governance of AI use and protection against AI-related risks.

Lenovo scheduled ThinkCentre X Ultra availability to begin in November 2026, with timing varying by geography.
