Lucid Scribe Halovision is a plugin for the Lucid Scribe program that detects changes between frames captured by a webcam. This technology detects the eye movements of a sleeping person, alerting them when they enter the REM stage of sleep.
The utility detects the pixel variation between frames (up to 50%) and in this way detects the eye movement of each eye.
What is Lucid Scribe?
For those who don't know what Lucid Scribe is, it is a monitor designed to detect eye movement during sleep, a platform used in neuroscience.
How Halovision Works
This complement is ideal for studying sleep stages (REM) because the plugin's functions detect when the person enters REM sleep.
The plugin alerts via an audible signal to the person in that sleep stage without waking them. This way the sleeper can take control of the dream. To perform this study you need a device that uses a webcam placed in front of the eyes (like goggles), Lucid Scribe and the Lucid Scribe Halovision extension. This way you can measure the changes between frames and detect the state of sleep through eye movement.
Interface and Features
From its simple interface you can see each eye separately, manipulate the Algorithm, the frames (FPS), the amplification, the pixels and determine the IP to record or view the transmission live.
Really, the complement provides a unique function and you can find different scientific uses or not so advanced studies.
Availability
Lucid Scribe Halovision is a free complement available for the Lucid Scribe platform.
