Manga Plus is a platform run by Shueisha, a publisher responsible for publishing very popular magazines like Weekly Shōnen Jump, which serializes stories of the caliber of One Piece, Boruto, My Hero Academia, and Hunter x Hunter (with its frustrating irregularity included). However, the current catalog of Manga Plus goes much further. Bleach, Death Note, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Super, Naruto, Nisekoi, Rurouni Kenshin, and Bakuman are some of the titles that appear there. Technical details about Manga Plus are scarce on the official site, but for now we know it is available via Web or mobile app (compatible with iOS and Android), that it will be financed through advertising, and that users will be able to purchase entire volumes or the most recent editions of the Weekly in digital format. As expected, chapters will remain on Manga Plus for a limited time, making way for new entries.
Now, Shueisha made two promises: First, Manga Plus will have no lag in relation to publications when they debut in Japan, meaning fans of a specific story will be able to enjoy it simultaneously around the world. And second, the Spanish edition will be ready between February and March, with some modifications to the manga lineup. In summary: The potential of Manga Plus is gigantic... as long as Shueisha doesn't mess it up. It's evident there will be restrictions on the number of free chapters available, and everything will depend on how good the prices are for the rest.
