MediaTek CEO Rick Tsai said AI demand would continue to grow, though its pace could vary, according to a Reuters report published October 30, 2026. The company’s two accelerator projects were at different stages: initial shipments of the first reportedly began in September 2026, while large-scale production of the second was planned for the first quarter of 2028.
The first accelerator had begun shipments
Reuters also reported that MediaTek forecast $2.5 billion in fourth-quarter revenue from its first AI accelerator. The figure is a forecast; the report did not specify the year for that fourth quarter.
The first accelerator’s reported initial shipments and revenue forecast are separate from the second project’s production schedule. MediaTek’s reported plan placed large-scale production of that second accelerator in Q1 2028.
MediaTek’s third-quarter results
MediaTek reported third-quarter revenue of TWD 168.1 billion ($5.16 billion), up 18.3% year over year. Net income was TWD 28.2 billion, up 10.8% from the same period a year earlier.
