Meta Platforms raised $15 billion through a US-dollar bond sale connected to AI investment, Bloomberg reported on November 3, 2026. That was below the $20 billion–$25 billion range described in earlier pre-sale reports. Bloomberg also reported that orders reached as much as $58 billion, citing people familiar with the offering.
Orders far exceeded the amount raised
The peak order book was about 3.9 times the $15 billion sale, according to Bloomberg. An order book tallies investor requests during an offering; proceeds are the amount raised. The figures describe different parts of the transaction.
The proceeds fell short of earlier expectations
Before the completed sale was reported, Business Insider España and iProUP described expectations of at least $20 billion, with a possible ceiling of $25 billion. Compared with that range, the reported $15 billion outcome was $5 billion, or 25%, below the lower estimate and $10 billion, or 40%, below the upper one.
Meta’s AI investment was the financing context
Bloomberg connected the bond sale to Meta’s AI investment. iProUP reported that Meta forecast capital expenditures of $135 billion to $145 billion for 2026 and that its free cash flow was negative $2.12 billion in the third quarter of 2026.
Meta’s separate equity plan, announced October 26, included about $35 billion in underwritten offerings and a proposed Class C at-the-market program of up to about $60 billion. NeoTeo covered Meta’s share offerings and proposed ATM program separately.
