Axios reported on November 4, 2026, that Meta acquired Conductor, an AI coding startup whose software coordinates multiple coding agents. Conductor separately said it is joining Meta. For users, the company announced a staged transition: Conductor Cloud was scheduled to become read-only on November 13 and shut down on November 20, while Local Conductor had a separate support plan extending into early 2027. Axios reported the acquisition.
What the deal means for Conductor users
Conductor’s announcement said the company is joining Meta. Co-founder and CEO Charlie Holtz shared the same news in his post.
What changes for Conductor Cloud users
In its November 4 announcement, Conductor said new users could no longer sign up or download the app. Existing free users could not upgrade to Pro, while existing Pro users could use Pro features at no charge during the transition.
Conductor scheduled Conductor Cloud to become read-only on November 13, 2026. Users would still be able to access existing chats, but not send new messages. The company scheduled the cloud service to shut down on November 20, when deletion of cloud user data was to begin.
Users could move cloud workspaces and chats to the Mac app with Transfer to local, or export an archive through Settings → Account → Export data. Conductor also said active subscribers would receive refunds.
If your work is in Conductor Cloud, the company’s stated options were to transfer the workspace to the Mac app or export an archive before the scheduled shutdown.
