Meta told Android Authority on October 13, 2026, that it had resolved an audio issue affecting Ray-Ban Meta glasses, according to the outlet’s report. The statement followed one owner’s account of unexpected audio capture without the “Hey Meta” wake phrase.
What the owner reported
Android Authority reporter Hillary Keverenge described one user’s report involving three pairs of Ray-Ban Meta glasses spanning second- and third-generation models. The owner said “Respond without Hey Meta” was turned off, yet recordings and transcripts appeared in Meta AI history. The glasses’ internal notification light reportedly came on at times during ordinary conversation.
The owner also associated the behavior’s onset with a recent firmware update. Android Authority said it had not reproduced the behavior and characterized the reports as limited.
What Meta said about voice logs
Meta said users can manage, review, and delete voice logs of their interactions with Meta AI through settings.
