ABC News reported that Meta’s Australian objection form had been available since July 2025. Meta describes it as a way for Australians to object to future AI training on their public Facebook and Instagram data. Reaching the form requires an active Facebook profile and a login.
What the objection covers
According to Meta’s statements reported by ABC News, submitting an objection means the company will not use that person’s public data for future AI training. Meta also says it sends an email confirming the submission.
The stated exemptions cover private accounts, private messages and accounts Meta identifies as belonging to people under 18.
What you need to access the form
Meta’s Help Center form page says you must log in with an active Facebook profile to access it. The form’s reported scope concerns public data on Facebook and Instagram and future AI training.
