But the Micro Lego Computer offers not just the bricks, but also the hardware, based on a high-performance Intel NUC platform, with a good level of customization and external modules designed to expand its functions.
The Intel NUC Middle Ground
Despite everything that has happened in the computer market, there is still a certain appeal in assembling our own systems. The current situation clearly favors compact and portable computers, but the feeling is that the user must sacrifice too much to reduce size. The Intel NUC platform tries to offer a middle ground with Core i3, i5, and i7 processors in a volume smaller than we are used to. After having worked on the previous "Mini" edition, the Micro Lego Computer aims to offer a lower entry point economically, while maintaining a solid performance base, and using striking cases made of Lego bricks. The three available models of the Micro Lego Computer have a 120GB SSD as the main drive, and cooling is handled by a Noctua Premium low-profile heatsink. Interested buyers can purchase the main module and use it directly, or connect expansion modules that include USB 3.0 ports, a memory card reader, and an external bay for traditional hard drives.
Models and Pricing
The most accessible option uses a Core i3-5010U processor and comes with 4GB of RAM, the intermediate model has a Core i5-5250U with 8GB, and finally, the highest configuration offers a Core i7-5557U with 16GB of RAM. The prices for each are $599, $729, and $899, but do not forget the possibility of customization. If the consumer already has some of the components, they can remove them from the budget and lower the price a bit more.
