VoiceMeeter is an audio mixing platform that allows you to combine two channels: you can connect a microphone to one and an audio program to the other, so you can combine a hardware input and a virtual input.
The environment is compatible with the vast majority of audio interfaces such as WSAPI, WAVE-RT, Direct-X, KS, MME, and ASIO (very used by DJs).
Installation and setup
Once you download the program from its official page, you will see the simple interface of the platform. But we recommend that before installing the environment you have connected and properly configured the audio inputs such as microphones, guitars, etc.
Using VoiceMeeter
Its use is very simple: you only have to select input A and input B located at the top right of the interface. Once this task is done, the platform will send an audio signal to the device and check its status to perform the mix.
Channel controls and audio enhancement
Then, on each channel you can enable or disable the inputs, manipulate the gain, the equalizers, or put the channel in mono or stereo mode, among many other options. Another great tool of the utility is the improvement of audio tracks, being able to modify bass, treble, and mids using the equalizer. At this point, the program will warn you when you exceed the stability thresholds by turning red.
