This week, we have the game of The Witcher which is nothing but an adaptation of the board game, a challenging match-3 RPG puzzle, more bridges to build in Bridge Constructor Playground and new adventures of the coin-collecting knight with Wind-up Knight 2.
Bridge Constructor Playground
Compared to its predecessor, Bridge Constructor, Bridge Constructor Playground offers a much simpler introduction to the game, including a more complete tutorial and a free mode with no fixed budget or limit on building materials, and each level offers five challenges to master instead of two. Tackle each level without restrictions and freely build bridges to move to the next one. But keep in mind that to enter the next island, you first need to earn a certain number of emblems, which you get by meeting a set of requirements when building a bridge. Developed by ClockStone, Bridge Constructor Playground is available on iOS and Android.
Devil Shard
Game Stew likes to take two seemingly disparate concepts and mix them together to create something brilliant. Such is the case with Devil Shard, a match-3 puzzle game with RPG where you combine swords, for example, to strike a blow, and hearts to restore health. You play as a hero who needs to stop a war caused by the emperor. Along the journey, you'll discover more than the truth and face a great evil. This isn't the first time we've seen something like this, but Game Stew's particular style gives it the feel of a retro adventure game. Developed by Game Stew Studio, Devil Shard is available on iOS.
Skullduggery!
The slingshot-style mechanic seen in Angry Birds should be familiar to you, but the way it's applied to Skullduggery! is novel and fun. The premise is that you're a skull working as a collecting agent for the Infernal Revenue Service, collecting from the rich in hopes of bringing their wealth to the afterlife. To do this, you have to bounce around levels, propelling yourself with the elasticity of your own brain. The action gets ridiculously fast as you fight the skull's enemies, avoid dangers, and quicken your pace to beat moving walls that try to crush you—all while collecting riches and artifacts to complete level objectives. Developed by ClutchPlay Games, Skullduggery! is available on iOS, Android (free version) and Amazon (free version).
The Witcher Adventure Game
To coincide with the release of the physical board game based on Andrzej Sapkowski's novels, developer CD Projekt Red also released The Witcher Adventure Game in a digital edition for PC, iOS and Android. Players can take on one of the game's four characters: Geralt, Triss Merigold, Dandelion, and Yarpen Zigrin, each with their own abilities to develop and their own dice mechanics for a different game each time you play, whether against friends or against the machine. Each character has their own story arc and objectives, fighting monsters and solving problems; but at the end of the game, there can only be one winner. Developed by CD Projekt Red alongside Can Explode Games, The Witcher Adventure Game is available on iOS and Android.
Wind-up Knight 2 (Free Game)
Not much has changed between Wind-up Knight and Wind-up Knight 2 in terms of gameplay. You're still playing a knight who must collect coins, avoid hazards, and take down monsters, but it's very well made and gets quite challenging very quickly. Side quests were also added to round out the gameplay: each level has three objectives you can complete separately to earn extra coins; plus, it's one of those rare games that doesn't require in-app purchases to win. Developed by Robot Invader, Wind-up Knight 2 is available on iOS and Android.
