Mobile Games of the Week (23/12/15)
Luftrausers

Boom Dots

Prepare for a challenge that will be very hard to stop playing once you start. Boom Dots is a game where you repeatedly hit a target to get the highest score possible. You have an icon that you slide forward to hit moving targets. It sounds simple, but you'll see this mechanic keeps you hooked for hours. The game has two hundred missions to complete and twenty unlockable designs to change the look of the stage and the targets. Developed by Umbrella, Boom Dots is available on iOS and Android.

Card Crawl

Recently, card games have become very popular on mobile. Just mention the big names of the genre like Hearthstone and Magic 2015, but there are also lesser-known games that have their charm. One of them is Card Crawl, a simple and addictive card game mixing solitaire with dragons and dungeons. The goal is to win each 'dungeon' using fifty-four random cards, three per hand, which can be used to either kill a monster or use an object from your inventory. You have two game modes and a game shouldn't take more than two or three minutes. Ideal for playing anytime. Developed by Arnold Rauers, Card Crawl is available on iOS and Android (free version).

Into the Dim

Into the Dim is a roguelike RPG starring a boy and his dog on an adventure to solve the mystery of a town. Into the Dim invites you to explore dungeons full of deadly traps that will test your reflexes. There are also several puzzles to solve and enemies to defeat to discover the truth hidden in the city. With a retro design in both graphics and soundtrack, the game is very challenging, where death lurks around every corner. Don't forget to explore every corner of the stage to find valuable treasures. Developed by Happymagenta, Into the Dim is available exclusively on iOS.

Luftrausers

Luftrausers is a 2D plane shoot 'em up that throws you into a war in the style of the 1940s. In Luftrausers you can choose from over a hundred combinations of weapons, plane parts, and propulsion systems to soar the skies in an all-out fight against fighter planes, battleships, and submarines. Unlike other games in the genre, here you can make 360-degree movements, more akin to a multidirectional shooter. However, the main weapon can only fire from the front, which forces you to consider the plane's position and angle. You also have to keep in mind the plane's momentum during flight, as well as gravity and drift when maneuvering as much as forward propulsion. Developed by Vlambeer, Luftrausers is available exclusively on Android.

Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector

Do you like kittens? Then Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector is the game for you. The goal is to attract a variety of cats to your garden. To do that, you must feed them, entertain them with toys, and get furniture where they can rest. Once the kittens are in the garden, you can take photos of them that can be saved in an album, and receive gifts from them. The game has no end, but cats will only appear as long as you put food in the garden. Developed by Hit-Point, Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector is available on iOS and Android.

This week's list: Boom Dots, Card Crawl, Into the Dim, Luftrausers, Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector.
