Charming Keep
Charming Keep (free game): The Australian studio Mighty Games made a name for itself with Shooty Skies and now has focused all its attention on Charming Keep, an idle that is exactly what its name suggests (charming). The idea is to build a group of shops, similar to a tycoon game, where funds are collected to rescue unfortunate princes from the dangers of their princely adventures. It strikes the right balance between cute, fun, and fun to play, with what seems like decent progression and without getting boring like some idles do. It's one of the genre's best-designed titles for enjoying on mobile devices. Developed by Mighty Games, Charming Keep is available on iOS and Android.
Deathfall
Deathfall: One of Riverman Media's first experiments in creating hand-drawn, aged-looking 2D graphics. Deathfall is a macabre and artistic experience with physics-based controls and infinite levels. It offers hypnotic, physics-driven gameplay where you control the movement of a skull in freefall while collecting relics and avoiding obstacles. You just have to keep your device upright, tilting it to move the skull. The game features dynamically generated levels and an eerie soundtrack that will make your hair stand on end. Developed by Riverman Media, Deathfall is available exclusively on iOS.
Evoland 2
Initially released in 2015 on Steam, Evoland 2 is a sequel to the first Evoland and follows its example with graphics and gameplay that evolve as you progress through the story. It starts as a fairly typical action RPG, but as you progress, both graphics and gameplay take dramatic changes that work wonderfully to keep the gameplay fresh. In fact, this fantastic sequel incorporates even more genres (shooter, fighting, cards, and platformers) and offers over 20 hours of playtime. My Child Lebensborn
Lebensborn was an initiative in Nazi Germany that involved sending children to be adopted by "racially pure" parents, both in Germany and in occupied countries. Given the themes of bullying and abuse, it's no surprise that the first thing you see is a content warning about potential issues. My Child Lebensborn has you try to raise a Lebensborn child in Norway, and their school experience is far from idyllic. In fact, you're likely to feel increasingly somber the more you play, but it's an experience worth trying. Developed by Sarepta Studio, My Child Lebensborn is available on iOS and Android.
R-Type II
If you enjoyed R-Type, then you can't miss this sequel. Two years have passed since the devastation of the Bydo Empire, but outer space is in danger once again. R-Type II is a horizontal shooter where you control the R-9C spaceship through six levels. Now you have two new weapons (laser and shotgun) and a new type of bomb. Eliminate enemy ships and collect as many weapons as you can, as they will help you face the Boss that awaits you at the end of each level. Developed by DotEmu, R-Type II is available on iOS and Android.
