An Australian developer decided to adapt the classic board game to the web. Titled Monopoly IO, now you'll be able to play Monopoly online with your friends (and enemies) directly in your browser, completely free.
I remember the rainy days with no electricity at home. Days that felt endless because of the lack of entertainment (in my case, video games, movies, and series). But that all changed one day with the arrival of Monopoly, the classic board game that to this day is the perfect excuse to bring out at family reunions or with friends. These days the game is available both physically and digitally (consoles, PC, and mobile devices), and based on the latter format, we present you Monopoly IO, to play Monopoly online with friends, enemies, and/or strangers.
A classic in your browser
Developed by BenBean (Ben Carr), Monopoly IO is free to play in the browser. You can jump into public games (with players from around the world) or a private game (ideal for playing with friends). The mechanics stay the same: roll the dice, buy properties, and bankrupt your opponents.
Still in development
One thing that might get annoying is that the game is still in development, and some problems can pop up during matches. So when playing, it's recommended not to use the browser (though that's not a guarantee either). You can enjoy Monopoly IO on any WebGL-compatible device and play with anyone around the world.
