Less than three months before the release of the new Mortal Kombat X, the game looks very promising with new gameplay improvements, the debut of four fighters, and the return of old characters. Unmissable!
The Story
The story of Mortal Kombat X begins at the end of the previous game, jumping twenty-five years into the future, emphasizing the veteran fighters alongside new ones. Some of the most prolific fighters include Scorpion and Sub-Zero, while four new characters representing good and evil are introduced: Cassie Cage, daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade, and Kotal Kahn, inspired by the Aztec 'blood god', as the new emperor of Outworld.
The other two new characters are D'Vorah, an insect woman who can summon a swarm of insects, and a pair consisting of Torr (a giant masked brute) and Ferra (a dwarf woman who rides on Torr's back). Returning fighters include Raiden, Kano, Quan Chi, Kung Lao, Kitana and Goro, the latter being an exclusive character for those who pre-order the game. According to Ed Boon, the main antagonist of Mortal Kombat X has not yet been revealed, but it will be a character whose return fans of the saga did not expect to see.
Gameplay
As for gameplay, bloodier Fatalities will be added, and X-ray moves remain with some system improvements. Now each fighter has three different combat variations, each with a different set of moves usable during the fight. Mortal Kombat X is being developed by two studios: NetherRealm Studios on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and Showtime Studios on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows. The game will be available starting April 14, 2015.
