Sitting in a bar listening to the warm voice of a storyteller is a moment many people enjoy. There aren't many storytellers left, so we present NaturalReader, a program that will read PDF files for you. Even though it isn't a warm voice, you can sit back and listen to the reading. The program uses the voices of Microsoft Helena, Microsoft Zira, Rosa, and María. But if you want to go a bit further, you can save the reading in MP3 format.
Importing Your Files
When you open the platform, you'll see its simple interface, from which you'll import files by clicking the Add New button. You can import PDF files, web pages, copy text from the clipboard, and captures or OCR images.
The file will be incorporated into the utility's interface and you can start reading by clicking the Play button. You can also jump to the next line or go back, among other multimedia functions.
Customizing the Reading Voice
But we want to focus on the reading voice. By default, the environment chooses Helena's voice. To change and add more voices, click the Speaker arrow and select Add More…. Here select Spanish and you can download the Rosa and María voices. Next to Speaker, you'll find the Speed option, from where you can adjust the voice speed (-10 to +10).
Extra Tools and Availability
The environment also has extra tools such as PDF file editing, transferring text to iOS and Android mobile devices, converting PDF files (MP3, OCR functions, high-quality voice, and voice synchronization to mobile devices), and creating keyboard shortcuts.
Really, the environment is a very good option for reading PDF files. Although many options are available in the commercial version, the functions of the free version are sufficient for a basic user. NaturalReader is available for free for Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.
