Netflix has released the first official trailer for The Defenders, the crossover that will bring together the superheroes of the Marvel series. It will consist of 8 episodes and will star Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), and Finn Jones (Iron Fist). Additionally, the appearance of Elektra was confirmed via a teaser.
The whirlwind we've been experiencing in recent years, thanks to the parameters Netflix has set for series formats, has also brought us the world of Marvel superheroes. Daredevil was the first of this new batch, and it left a very good taste in our mouths. Then came Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, which, despite not being resounding successes, have had a good reception from critics. A different case was Iron Fist, which did not have the best reception from the public and the press—something Netflix had not encountered with its superhero adaptations. Some of the culprits are the poor script, the constant repetitive lines, the somewhat slow pace, and the poor level of fight scenes compared to Luke Cage or Jessica Jones.
The Trailer
In this trailer that Marvel gives us, we can see how our heroes meet and get to know each other. Jessica Jones is confronted by Matt Murdock (Daredevil), and Luke Cage faces Danny Rand (Iron Fist). The four must join forces to defeat the villain of the moment, Alexandra, played by the great Sigourney Weaver.
Another key point revealed is that it will have 8 episodes, 5 fewer than the rest of the Marvel series. This is also due to criticism about the length of each character.
Elektra
Elektra, played by young Elodie Yung, will have an important role in Defenders. In the teaser released a couple of days ago, we can see the resurrection of Elektra. This suggests that she will be an enemy of our heroes in this new installment, as her body will be possessed by The Hand.
