We're getting closer to the release of the American adaptation of Masamune Shirow's manga. To ease the wait, take a look at the new Ghost in the Shell trailer that will air this weekend during the Super Bowl.
Recently we told you about the American adaptation of Ghost in the Shell starring Scarlett Johansson. The actress takes on the role of the Major, a cyborg who leads the covert operations of Section 9 against constant attacks from cyber criminals and technological terrorists. The plot revolves around a case where Section 9 must face an enemy who will stop at nothing to sabotage the artificial intelligence technology of Hanka Robotic. Based on the manga of the same name by Masamune Shirow, the film is set in a cyberpunk world where humanity coexists with robots that are identical replicas of humans.
On Sunday, February 5, the Super Bowl will be played in the US. As is customary, a flood of trailers will invade the halftime show for the audience's pleasure. Of course, there's always one that comes out ahead of schedule, and in this case it's the new Ghost in the Shell teaser. The thirty-second video contains new images, with scenes that replicate several moments from the original Japanese film released in 1995, while the phrase "They did not save her life. They stole it" is heard.
Without a doubt, both the art direction and the action choreography stand out in the new promotional video for the Hollywood adaptation of the iconic Japanese manga and anime. Hopefully the final result won't disappoint us. This adaptation features a cast led by Scarlett Johansson, Michael Pitt, Pilou Asbæk, Chin Han, Juliette Binoche, and Takeshi Kitano. Produced by Paramount Pictures and directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman), Ghost in the Shell will be released in theaters in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on March 31, 2017.
