Who hasn't spent a little time in front of Paint to unleash their inner artist? We've seen extraordinary cases of people fully dedicated to that platform, but when inspiration fails and lack of skill betrays us, why not let a website do the "heavy lifting"? The answer leads us to No Paint, a small portal developed by Whistlegraph that applies different patterns and effects while the user decides whether to paint or discard.
No Paint: Two Clicks, All the Art
I still remember Concha García Zaera, a true Paint master who, at 90 years old and with almost 300,000 Instagram followers, continues to display her talent on Microsoft's tool. As simple as a drawing app may be, it's always possible to create extraordinary things with enough dedication, and even inspire others to follow a similar path. However, there are times when we need an extra ingredient: a crazy idea, an error, a repeating pattern, a "creative spark," if you will.
From a certain point of view, that's the offer of the No Paint by Whistlegraph portal. After making rounds on social networks and appearing on some colleague sites, I decided to go in for a few minutes... and I must confess it's much more addictive than it seems. The mechanics of No Paint is very simple: if you like the result, press "Paint." Otherwise, click "No" to move on to the next effect.
The effects and patterns I've detected so far are Softy, Banner, Stamp, Rainbow, Grid Worm, Quicksand, Recurse, Dark Window, Contrast, Light Bump, and Blur. I don't know if there will be more in the future, but it's a more than healthy number to shape strange works, and I'm not exaggerating. Below, I'm going to share a "painting" that emerged with just ten minutes of No Paint and that I could never have created on another platform.
