If you are looking for a private chat platform that has several features and no limit on the number of guests, Oorja is undoubtedly a very good option. The environment includes: private online video chat, shared code editor, text chat, audio chat, screen sharing, and creating private rooms via a URL address or by establishing a password-based connection.
To enter a chat room or create one, the first thing you need to do is register to the system. Then a video chat room will open; at the top you will see your webcam and at the bottom other service options (mute audio and video, invite, screen sharing, among others).
To invite users, click on the “Invite” button and then share the URL address so people join the chat room. If you selected the password option (in the first step), the platform will generate a password to share with your guests. Once all participants have accepted the invitation, you will see their webcams at the top of the interface.
To share your screen with Oorja, the first thing you have to do is install a plugin in your Google Chrome Web browser. After doing this, you will need to click on the “Screen Sharing” button, located at the bottom. You can share your entire screen or select a part of the frame. When you want to end the action, simply click on the “Stop Sharing” button. You can share your screen in a video, audio, or text chat.
To use the room's code editor, you simply need to enable the shared code editor by clicking on the “+” button, located on the left side, and selecting CodePad. Then a window will appear where you can edit and share code with chat members.
You can also access 2D games, rich text (QuillPad), and the ability to create new tabs in the room, thanks to the Blank Slate feature (an option for developers).
