About Openfire
Openfire (formerly known as Wildfire and Jive Messenger) is an instant messaging and chat server that uses the XMPP protocol (Jabber) and is developed in Java. These characteristics make the utility completely secure and backed by a large community. This way, you can have your own messaging server and thanks to its administrator, you can share files, send offline messages, create groups, broadcast messages, and more. However, if you want to expand the environment's capabilities, there are free plugins that you can install from the hosting control panel.
Once you download the application, you'll see its interface, from which you can easily manage the server (it runs by default on port 9090 for HTTP and 9091 for HTTPS) and as an administrator you can connect from any connection through your web browser.

Some features of the server include interaction with Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, and Jingle, real-time statistics, data compression, Active Directory storage, LDAP, MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL, and SSL/TLS, among other options.
