Parkdale is a free, portable application that lets you measure the read, write, speed, and IOPS value of your computer's drives. From the tool you can run three types of tests: QuickAccess, FileAccess, and BlockAccess. In all three methods you'll see graphical statistics to determine disk read, speed, and write.
Three Test Methods
At the top of the interface you'll find the three test methods (QuickAccess is set by default). In the QuickAccess test, on the left you'll see the drives and on the right the options "File Size" and "Block Size". In the first option you can set the MBytes (among 10, 50, 100, 250, 1000, and 4000), while in the second option you can choose between 1 Mbyte and 64 Kbyte (Windows Default).
All you have to do is click the "Start" button and you'll quickly get the results in its own interface. At the bottom you'll find a button to compare your score online.
FileAccess
In the FileAccess option you can search for the file you want to use to test its read speed.
BlockAccess
In the BlockAccess method you can check the data of a specific disk sector without having to use the file system.
