Many aspects of configuring a computer require a brief visit to what we colloquially call the BIOS, although the latest generation of PCs already includes UEFI technology. Manuals and official sites only contain basic information about this section, and the first time you enter, the experience can be intimidating. Fortunately, Lenovo offers its PC BIOS Simulator, which, despite being focused on the company's models, proves very useful for practice.
If I have to think of a reason why a user would be forced to enter the BIOS of their computer, it's changing the boot order for their drives. Most motherboards include a boot menu that lets you choose the drive manually, but if the change must be permanent, entering the BIOS is inevitable.
The same happens when modifying the shared RAM for integrated video chips (the 'Auto' option is usually enough, but some apps require fixed values), or general performance values, like overclocking or going in the other direction.
